Welcome to JADE Home Inspection!

Buying a home normally constitutes the single largest investment of a lifetime. No one likes surprises and many can't afford to purchase a home with potentially expensive problems. JADE Home Inspectors are either engineers, state-licensed homebuilders, Members of ASHI/NAHI and/or Southern Building Code Certified "One and Two Family Dwelling Inspectors". We specialize in pre-purchase home inspections, building condition surveys, EIFS moisture intrusion surveys and building code compliance inspections.

In our standard pre-purchase home inspection, we closely follow the ASHI Standards of Practice. This entails a complete evaluation of a home's eight major systems or categories, including the:

  • Foundation
  • Building Structure
  • Interior
  • Exterior
  • Kitchen Appliances
  • HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing

Crawl space inspections are an important part of any home inspection. We look for standing water, rotted floors, cracked foundation walls, inadequate ventilation, as well as visually apparent problems with the HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing systems.

When a problem is identified, our inspectors explain its cause and possible correction in detail and, if requested, we will also estimate the cost of repair. Moreover, we utilize an innovative report document, The HomeBook®, which is distributed by HomePro Systems Inc. This reporting system is completed at the site, immediately following the inspection, so there's no waiting for a follow-up typewritten report. Our reports identify the following:

  • Major Problems and/or unsafe conditions found
  • Minor problems and minor safety concerns found
  • Items in need of immediate or eventual repair
  • Important annual maintenance chores

The HomeBook® contains a wealth of information regarding general home ownership. In addition to a complete physical description of the home, it includes detailed information on more than 500 common home problems along with the "what and how" to go about repairing each problem. It also includes imformation on common life cycles, repair and remodleing costs, a handy energy retrofit guide and an exhaustive list of technical references.
